Well I Have Written Once or Twice About This My Ongoing Venture

Poetry Writes and Other Stuff from Sinbad the Sailor Man or PW&OSfStSM in past Hubs. So I thought I'd touch base with all of you who are still trying as I am trying to build your own Websites and hoping to earn a Passive Income with them.

I have been devoting much more time this year as to this Venture. As the Seasons change from Fall to Winter as the weather has me home bound more so than not; because of all of Its fluctuations of temperature and humidity. My back just can't handle the consent changing of the outside variances. So I stay inside most of the time. 

It (this Venture of Mine) is really more of a hobby than a Job, Career, or Investment; at this present time. I can not honestly say I have devoted to It what I would to any other JOB or Career. That I might have expected to derive an income from. Shame on me for this, but it all has to do with my Physical and Mental Conditioning brought on by my Back traumas.

And the compounding life traumas that were born from them or because of them. But enough of that self pitying stuff. It just happens to be something I like to do and It keeps myself busy. With this Venture not the self pitying stuff although in the past this was all I had to keep me busy.

For those of you who don't know me I am on disability for serve back troubles which have only gotten worst over the years. The last 14 years. I am facing further surgeries as I sit here typing this Hub, but I am doing everything I know to avoid the surgeon's knife again. I have had three back operations to date. And believe me one is more than enough for anyone to have to bare.

I have been fighting a new trauma off and on for all of this last year or so. And I was recovering rather well until I hit a chuck hole with the riding lawnmower. It didn't seem to be much at the time and it would be several weeks later that it turned into a problem, but It seems to be healing on its own and then again at times it seems to worsen.

Time will tell. As with these my injuries new and old. It is the same with this my Venture. Only Time will tell. I have every confidence if I guard my back's condition it will get better. It has always gotten better in the past as long as I do very little in the line of physical activities. I should reach a point where the pain will subside and level off.

Well this is the start of the forth year for my website; or at least the dot com version of it. And I started using Adsense in July 2010 And to date I have just reached twenty dollars in earnings. Which to most people doesn't seem to be much or even enough for all the effort.

I know, the opinion of others very well, but it is not bad for the traffic that It received during its first few years of existence. Upon the World Wide Web filled with millions of websites and billions of webpages.

I didn't know anything about Adsense or Google four years ago. And I still don't know a whole lot about them today. But what I have learned I am willing to share with you all here at Hubpages.

Since January 2012 till October 2012

Since January of this year until October I used only the 300 x 250 square ad block by Google and truly it was the only one I have ever used. From the beginning of my use with Adsense ads. But this October I decided to try what the Adsense team has been saying all a long. Which was to diversify my ad sizes and placements.

Mind you I was still rather skeptical of what Adsense could do for me and my website. After all I took a big hit to my ego. From the Porno sites that made me believe I was all that and a bag of chips my first few months way back in July 2009 - 2010.

These sites somehow hacked into my new forum and were using it to spread their filth around and making themselves a pretty penny.

I would have never even knew they were there if I didn't start doing vanity searches on the website. It was getting hits in the millions and many many visits every day but yet I was not getting any Adsense revenue or hits on my clickbanks items or my Affiliate items.

So when I checked into it. I found them using an old forum that I thought I shut down but it wasn't shut down correctly until I eliminated all of its files from the websites files.

After I found them and eliminated their access to my website address and forum I had virtually no traffic at all for a long while. about eight months. That was the Blow that almost made me quit the website altogether.

Until I researched the porno sites and their traffic. Its unreal that they would have to even do what they did to me but, because of the high traffic they receive and the amount of profits. And all the hoops it takes to open one of these porno sites correctly the legislation and the high cost to do business.

I could see how and why there was a reason these guys were doing this to me and many other newbies. Big money in porn! Which is really sad.

We are so much more then lust and dust. Big money brings corruption and those who have a strong desire to get this money at any cost always find away around the rules and regulations.

I am sorry I get side tracked quiet easily some times. As I was saying change up your ads sizes and try different locations on your pages. Limit yourself to only three Adsense ads per Web page.

The Most popular sizes are believed to be the 300 x 250 squared, the Leader Board 728 x 90 and the Skyscaper wide 160 x 600 as soon as I placed these or started to place them. 

These other two ad sizes, I begun to see a rise in my impressions, not my clicks right away but my impressions. Plus I had many more advertisers bidding on my pages and the ads located on them.

After about a week and when they were still new to the website. I had seen as many clicks in that week as I had seen the full time period from January til October of 2012 which as a result doubled my click ratio for the year. So I was hooked. 

And there and then I knew I had to drive more traffic to the site along with creating more and better quality information as to keep the site growing and flowing forward again. So I started to search for more sites to add to my Traffic Wheel and Its links.

I was not having much luck as I have already tied into all the Big Dog social sites. And I wanted to stick with them for sure. So I started to listen to what the Grapevine was spouting off about that month and boom! An Idea came across the vine and I was off and running to see if I could make that work.

And so far I have to believe it is working, by what it is I am seeing with my Adsense account. Along with my promoting of old writes and new ones. And what it is I am doing now to increase traffic to the main portions of my monetized websites and Blogs. 

I would have to say Adsense could possibly support the cost of all the websites in about a years time. As long as I can keep the growth rate up and keep expanding my websites and Blogs footprint and footprints onto the internet.

Those that lead back to It that is. It should be more then possible to do. And that gets me excited as I need for this to happen if I am going to stick with It. For that would be about the right amount of time that it begins to happen for most of us who don't give in or up.
Four to five years, for some a little bit shorter and for some a bit longer.

Notice the different color text. These are links from Wikipedia.org. Also notice the Hubpage widget and the other Blogger Icons. They are links to my other Content on the WWW. Which all have youtube videos and Wikipedia links in them.

Well as I was listening to the Grape Vine chattering away. Something some one said made an impression on me. They said that there were so many videos being uploaded per minute, per day, per week, Per a single month that it would equate to a thousand years worth of video time a thousand years a month wow. 

Now that is a lot of videos I thought. And there is not many sites that are ever going to reach over five years old. This is when they become abandoned and left forgotten upon Youtube or the World Wide Web by their creators.

I knew about the massive amounts of abandon website materials and forgotten sites but it never dawned on me to seek them out or to try and use them some how, to organize them in some way and then share them with others.

So I kept listening and some one else mentioned Wikipedia.org a free source of information and how seldom people were using It; and to their advantage. Wikipedia is an Online free encyclopedia. With resources that any one could use freely as long as they referenced it. 

Tons of Videos with little or no information about the videos itself then left abandoned and forgotten but yet still usable for free as an embedded link or back link hum? Things began to stewing in my mind.

I listened a while longer; and another some one mentions Blogger.com Now wait a minute There I thought to myself a moment I use Blogger all the time! Its free and I can Monetize it. Three free resources which all can drive traffic; if they could be combined some how.

Now I have been wanting for some time to create my own video Blogs but I am not all that comfortable talking On-line. And with no way to edit my videos just yet. I would always end up scrapping them before they got posted. 

But I will be doing this some time in the future soon, as I hope to afford a video editor so I can edit out all my mistakes. Its a must have. Heck Youtube Videos are like the cheapest commercials anyone could do for their Business, Websites, or Blogs.

But hey aren't there too many of these commercials already? So I have been telling people at my Blogs to help solve peoples problems or entertain the hell out out them. I have been trying to help for some time now so why not try the flip side and entertain them some. Christmas Time? Christmas videos how many could I find? Enough.

So I created a Video Blog at Blogger.com and Boom it went to the single digits millions at Alexa.com within the first month! It took my website almost six months to do that and that was with the porno visitors.

Bingo a light bulb popped on above my head just like in the cartoons. So I created three more of these video Blogger Blogs. To see if it was a fluke or if it was working. Boom! All three within their first month went into the single digit Millions at Alexa. Whoa I thought now I am on to something here. I need my own Video Blogs with My own uploaded Videos and My own materials.

But wait a minute. That is so much work. Work I would never have the Time to do. Not by myself and I can't afford to pay even the fiverr.com people to do all that work. Now what? Hey Wikipedia I forgot about Wikipedia lets see if I can find Information to share there about these videos I was posting.

By Golly there was more information in most cases than I needed. So when I finally put them all together the pieces to this puzzle. You see what I now have been using a Blog that you can monetize for free and a resource website with vast amounts of Information you that can reference for free and videos you can share for free.

That are more then likely forgotten about or abandoned. So you will have less people pulling them from your sites and Blogs. Which always seems to be the case If you embedded a newer video for some odd reason. The Video's poster will shut them down without warning or get them pulled or taken down for copy right infringements or for some other reason altogether.

But these older Videos never seem to be bothered. And the beauty is that Blogger will help you find and select them with the tools within Blogger.

I have not worked out all the kinks of which I am sure there will be many to come. But for the meanwhile it is working to help drive traffic and earn Adsense as well affiliate commissions.

As small as all these changes are. They worked why? Because the more content you have that is seen and gets you noticed makes you more connected with and to the bigger foot prints that you have been leaving upon the WWW. Making it easier for old and new traffic to find you repeatedly because they are not only bigger they are deeply imprinted. 

And that is how I increased my Adsense earnings this year. I started doing what Google said about there products and I started looking to the resources that are freely used and shared by the masses. I asked the right people at the right time and ask my Visitors to like and share and to RSS feed my sites with subtle and gentle reminders whenever possible.

And then I combined these new resources with an old major player that lets you try to earn with their products for free! Such as Google's Blogger and with their Adsense program. They know best how it all works try and pick the brains of those who are earning with these systems whenever possible.

What Is a Command Centered Personal Website?

  

Well I am calling my website this, because this is where I do the majority of my daily work from. So in all actuality it is my command center or nerve center; whichever you like, but Command Center sound more appealing to myself.

So why is it a command center? Most people would consider the photo a better description of a Command Center. We can thank the Movies for that. And its true wherever the hardware is, is where the physical work is done.

Well because from there (my website) which is a virtual entity. Upon another virtual entity. I can find all the latest news and hot topics.

I do this at my News Rollers which are on different pages upon my website mixed in with a lot of other information. You can view some of the news rollers on the page entitled:

From here I can see what people are talking about and what they are finding to be interesting for that day. From here I can instantly click to all or any one of my Blogs, Social Networks, Bookmarkers, and Indexers.

I can even check on the Local Weather and find Maps to where I might wish to go. So when I find a topic I do like. I too could Write about It, Blog about It, Mention It, or Link to It.

I Designed the website solely for myself at first; and all my purposes. And yet, now at the same time others can freely and easily traverse through and around in it as well, as I can.

Some even better than myself. Although to them at first it may seem to be a Fun House or disordered treasure map. To others it will make little to no sense at all.

That is because most of them will never make it past the root page or Home page. The Home page or root page is the most visited of almost very website Upon the World Wide Web because it is the websites Landing Page.

For most MLM Marketers and Direct Sellers these are their main Draws, Traps, or Entry ways into their Product(s) or Services.

For me its a way to interest others into following me and my Traffic Wheel. This Traffic Wheel is liken to a Link Wheel. Except it doesn't try and hold you to my website alone or to my Ideals or products alone. In fact it tries to do the opposite.

I will continually try to send you somewhere else. Somewhere else where I am also at waiting for you in the shadows or the very first thing that you'll see, when you arrive. Remember that this website was Built for Me. So try and take notice of what it was and where it was you just left.

Or be sure to take notice to the other one of my Properties that you were sent to. Say an entertainment Blog.

They are video Blogs with mostly Youtube and Wikipedia information’s stuffed in them. These are easier builds and easier to maintain. Although there are some draw backs too.

I leave you to find out what they are for yourselves for now. Although I will say they greatly help increase or decease traffic here at home base.

Remember that Sinbad my (alter ego) is a trickster and a bit of a Pirate and He'll not make things easy for you. He will try and derail you and send you away from the map.
But they will help you too! The crew and Donnie that is.

They try and drive the traffic around and through this website or the Captain's Command Center. But much like the CPU in your computer if the traffic doesn't go through It; the CPU. It is lost or meaningless to the Monitors and to the Data Programmers.

That's You and I. These basic systems and the steps that they take are what lead you to the directions that their traffic takes. Here at the website. Whether it is mine, yours, or anyone Else's.
Traffic is always King and is the most needed of all things to earn upon the WWW.

It the traffic needs to come through the Command Center to be accredited. And then given the proper credit or value. Without this. Its off the Grid and free traffic for others to capture, guide, and profit from.
Why?

This is where your Analytic tags are they marked and marking the traffic and tracing it from here to there and it picks up every ounce of information it can. Age, locations, race, sex, education levels, etc.

So it needs to be flowed through the system that can read and define the info It [you the visitor/ subscriber] was tag with by the various other places you just entered or came from.

Every computer does this even your own this is why and how it remembers your preferences and settings when you return to your favorite sites.

Needed Tools for Tracking Traffic

This is one of the major mistakes we all make when trying to earn money on-line. We send the unaccredited traffic; for the work we do, to somewhere or some one else. Thinking we are receiving the credit. So how do we receive the proper credit well I am still working on that myself.

But I know we must code and track our doings which will code and track the Visitors and traffic that come through our website. To even come close to understanding what cause and effects we are having on the Traffic within, outside of, and around of our websites; and our profile pages.

This is Why I Do My Vanity Searches Weekly or Monthly

When I am working on expanding my footprints for the WWW. With these searches. Basic searches on Myself and my websites I can see if the search engines are indexing me or if they have stopped.

I can seen if the Ranking sites have increased or deceased the sites standings. I can also see who or what has taking that pages place upon the web search results.

We can do this with Google Analytics, Adwords, and Adsense too. All of this tracking stuff. As well as registering with the individual Site Rankers and Indexers. I use and recommend Alexa.com on my website.

You'll see it on every page. I use them to track my websites standings world wide and here at Home. It is a review site as well. Although most of us don't leave reviews some of us do.

These Tracking Tools allow you to see where your Traffic comes from and where It goes. When and where it leaves your site. When you sign up with them of course; you'll have to pay to see more.
To see and learn more about this coming and going of your sites traffic.

There is always a learning process and a curbed time period; to learning, with these tools. And a monetary cost is involved when you wish to know more. And you will want to know more I guarantee It.

Information is a commodity here in the real world. And it is used every second of the day by Big Business too!

Easier For Some Than It will be For Others

For some of Us it will be like trying to learn a foreign language; all by ourselves, with out even knowing what language it is. But It is a necessary task that we will need to accomplish; if ever, we wish to understand It.

Traffic that is. For some it won't be necessary to understand It at all; to make it work. It will just work for them because of their daily routines.

As we traverse the WWW we leave a slime trail. Much like a snail or slug would do on a piece of glass; as it crawled along it. After a while that trail dries up and is no longer visible to the naked eye.
Much like the traffic that came and went from our websites.

 Without tracers, trackers, and other individual Rankers watching who has come and went. We would be none the wiser that they were even there. Unless we were lucky enough to have interacted in some way with them while they were.

Most of the web hosts of today provide these Back Office Statics. But most of these are just basic stats and mean little to the average person who is just trying to drive traffic. But they are helpful to those who do.

Could it benefit you if you knew when the busiest time of the day for your Website was? And where It's visitors came from and then went? You bet Ya it Could! Then you could post newer information right before their daily rushes.

If you knew where they came from and where they went to. You could do your best to be there before them or let them know that you go there too. Giving you a common interaction a starting place to interact.

The most important thing we could possibly have is the Proper Knowledge of what our traffic is doing where it is going etc etc. And this will take us all some time to figure out! What that Knowledge is; the particular knowledge we need to convert or that causes a conversion or transaction at our points of sell.

Whether this action is profitable or not, positive, or negative to the flow of our traffic. And if we can change that direction, force, or course of that flow; to benefit our conversions.

Why use Widgets and Buttons In the First Place?

Hey lets face it we like to click on things just as when we were little kids. Hitting the switches and pushing the buttons was and is an enjoyable thing. To see the Ceiling fan speed up slow down the lights dim and get brighter. Oh even on our games and toys.

These things do stuff and curiosity often gets the best of us. So even though we have become Banner Blind and are not clicking on these anymore.

Because we we already know these things to be Ads or distraction. But yet sometimes we just have to see what it does and might do for us.

Widgets like our Hubpage one are great tools. It is encoded with your referral link. It can show roughly nine of your writes or the writes of your Favorite Hubber friends.

When you place their widget on your sites. And can be placed almost everywhere where simple html is used. Use these tools they'll improve your traffic when you do.

Can You Monitor All That You Do From One Place?

Right now; no I don't have such a place!

But I have several which allow me to get the information I find helpful to my efforts of driving traffic. They are Google Adsense, Google Analytics, and Alexa.

With our websites being our Command Centers we will see not only the effects of our doings but that of our visitors as well. And how they correspond to our traffic.

But that of those who visit our sites. We can only see the page before and the page after; if these have been tagged by the previous page. With the non paid options you'll get only enough to entice you to pay. And you'll need to pay for the information that makes the Big Business Marketeers foam at the mouth.

I will try and do some writes on the structuring of a website as I get better with doing so. But as it is now I have a very simple and basic site. It is beginning to receive more and more traffic as the months go by.

Watch your pointy things (cursors) closely they will give you a hint to where and what they are. Sometimes they'll lead you no where at all! And some times to a treasure trove of information. But remember! One Mans Garbage is Another Man's Treasure.

Question? What do "Cc:" and "Bcc:" mean?

Cc: stands for "carbon copy." Anyone listed in the Cc: field of a message will receive a copy of that message when you send it.

All other recipients of that message will be able to see that the person you designated as a Cc: recipient has received a copy of the message.

The Cc: field is useful in instances when you wish to share a message with someone but are not requesting that they reply or take any direct action in response.

Bcc: stands for "blind carbon copy." This is similar to the Cc: feature, except that Bcc: recipients are invisible to all of the other recipients of the message (including other Bcc: recipients).

For example, if you send a message To: johndoe@yahoo.com and Bcc: janedoe@yahoo.com, then john-doe will see himself as the message's only recipient, while jane-doe will see that you have also sent the message to john-doe.

The Bcc: field is useful in instances when you don't wish to share your recipients' email addresses with everyone who receives your message.

To send a message, you must always specify at least one recipient in the To: field. If you don't, an error message will appear when you attempt to send the message.

Adding a List

   To add a nickname to a contact in your address book, follow the steps below:
   
   

   1. Click "Edit" to the right of a contact name to see a detailed information listing.
   2. Add a new nickname in the space provided. A nickname must be unique – it can only be used for one contact in your Address Book – and can't contain spaces, commas, or single or double quotes.
   3. Click the "Save" button.

   
   If you've created categories, the names of these will work just like nicknames. Click "Compose" and type the list name in the To:, Cc:, or Bcc: field. Again, Address AutoComplete will offer you matching email addresses that you can select after typing just a few letters.
   
   Whichever method you choose, your recipients will see their names as you entered them into your address book, not as nicknames or the names of categories.
   
   
   

   Question? What's the difference between synchronization ("Sync") and Import/Export?

   Anyone who has used import/export to keep data from multiple sources consistent knows the problems it can cause: duplicate data and overwritten changes.

   
   For example, let's say you want identical data in your Palm Pilot and your Yahoo Address Book.
   
   While at home, you add John Doe to your Yahoo Address Book, and later you add Jane Smith to your Palm Pilot during a meeting.
   
   At the end of the day, you'd like to get the same set of information in both places.
   
   So you export your Palm Pilot data and import it into Yahoo Address Book. You get Jane Smith in your Yahoo Address Book but you also get duplicate entries for every other contact.
   
   To avoid this duplication problem, you could first delete all of your Yahoo Address Book data before importing the Palm Pilot data. But then, since it only existed in your Yahoo Address Book, you would have lost John Doe's entry.
   
   Synchronization solves these problems by taking changes to your data, regardless of where they were made, and distributing them to all your contact managers.
   
   If you change the same record in multiple places, synchronization allows you to automatically reconcile the differences and take the most recent change, or to manually reconcile the differences.

Master Mind Groups are cool but Master Mind Partnerships are far more beneficial to your Self and your Business development. I have gotten so much clearer a vision of my life goals. Goals which were once just Dreams.

Now knowing that Dreams become Visions. Visions become Goals. Goals become Achievements. Achievements become your life. Your life and Its accomplishments and then become your Legacy! I have always had Dreams, Desires and Visions but I let them die or fade away so many years back. For I made excuses and I believed my own excuses were valid.

So much so that I have wasted away so many years with tears and regrets. Too many years! If you are looking to get into a Master Mind Group. Do so with one that is active and willing to partner with you to hold you accountable to your desired out come or Goal. One that will help you fine and define you Life Vision.  

I have watch these Guys grow and by just watching and listen to recording thus far I have gain valuable insights the like that I have not found these last ten years seeking. The Lord said seek and you shall find asking and the answer is yes! 

Knock and the doors will begin to open. Do nothing and you'll receive nothing and that which you have you will soon lose. You must use what Talent you possess or you will lose it. Here The Partners have learned so much and with what they have applied and tried and hold too has profit them.

EVA's I knew their where people out there doing stuff like the EVA's in our Master Mind Partnerships do for other people the difference is we all are learning and training ourselves and those we partner with with the same systems the same mind sets. Entrepreneurs who all think in the same manner using the same systems as well as their own.

Its Time we Business owners and want to be business owners start training each other and those who are wishing to follow in our foot steps. A better way! A real education from real business owners. Who are actually doing it and make it happen daily. As they learn to do it better. They teach those beneath them and around them and above them a different way of seeing and believing what is possible.
